The ministerial cabinet has agreed upon a proposal to increase the salaries of all state service executive officers by 50 percent from January 1 next year.
Earlier this year, a cabinet sub-committee had been set-up to study and report to the cabinet on the recommendations made by the Special Salaries Commission set-up by the President.
Accordingly, on September 10, it had been agreed to increase the salaries of executive officers by 100 percent in two phases, with 50 percent of it from July 2020 and the remainder from January 1, 2021.
However, the cabinet yesterday had decided to provide half of the proposed salary increment starting from January 1 next year.
