MP Ruwan Wijewardene who has been reappointed as the State Minister of Defence by the President assumed duties today.
Minister Wijewardene took his oaths before President Maithripala Sirisena during the swearing in ceremony held at the Presidential Secretariat on Sept 9.
Minister Wijewardene became one of the youngest politicians to hold the important portfolio of defence when he was first sworn in as the State Minister of Defence on Jan 12, 2015.
