State Minister of International Cooperation, MP Susil Premajayantha today assured a high powered Chinese business delegation of Sri Lanka's security.
Mr Premajayantha was addressing the signing ceremony of the Cooperation Framework Agreement between the Confederation of Micro , Small and Medium Industries (COSMI) and the Chinese delegation.
The delagtion from the Chinese province of Sichuan and its reported Mianyang city, via their trade associations are promoting bilateral trade under the frameork of the belt and road initiative.
"The government especially the President guarantees the security of the people and your business in our country. That is what is needed, so that assurance is given. That is why our President was elected with an over whelming majority at the last presidential election," the State Minister said.
Further, Mr Premajayantha added that the tourism sector had recovered from the Easter Sunday attacks and assured the delegation of security not only in terms of the country but also in terms of business security.
In addition, MP Premajayantha pointed out during his address that both parties need to move beyond the terms and conditions set out in the agreements and implement the projects that have been set out within the necessary time frame.
"So then only we can see improvement between the two countries," he said.
