Statements recorded from 21 individuals who campaigned for Duminda
The CID recorded statements yesterday from 21 persons involved in campaigning for MP Duminda Silva. According to Police Media Spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana, who was quoted at a briefing yesterday said that three teams are conducting investigations, based on the statements that have been recorded. Twenty six (tractors, suspected to have been used to smuggle heroin into the country, were discovered in Sinharamulla, Kelaniya on Monday, based on information revealed by detained drug baron ‘Wele Suda’. SSP Ajith Rohananoted that the building were the tractors were stored had been rented by a British national who had established a business there.
