Station masters called off protest

A protest held by the railway Stationmasters union over a dispute with engine drivers was called off short while ago after the discussions with the authorities,a official said.

He said that Station masters were protesting over a incident where a train engine driver had refused to take orders of one of them. The trade unionists had demanded that the Railway authorities take disciplinary action against the driver.

The Railway Department had agreed to take action, he said.
