A suspect has been arrested in Kalmunai for smuggling foreign cigarettes and distributing them across the country.
The suspect, a resident of Kalmunai was arrested by Special Task Force (STF) personnel attached to the Kalmunai camp.
STF personnel had seized a total of 1000 foreign cigarettes which were being stored in two warehouses belonging to the suspect.
The STF said that a questioning will be carried out on the suspect for two days following which he will be produced before courts.

The final rites of veteran broadcaster, writer, and lyricist Nirmala de Alwis will be held today at Peradeniya.
