Special Task Force (STF) officers have recovered three local currency notes hidden in the footwear of a suspect who had been brought to the Agunukolapelessa prison yesterday (Oct 28).
Police said that a Rs 500 note and two Rs 100 notes had been seized from the suspect when he had been searched prior to entering the prison.
The suspect had been brought to the prison after he had been ordered to be remanded by the Agunukolapelessa Magistrate's Court. He has been handed over to the prisons police unit for further investigations.
