A student from a prominent school in Jaffna committed suicide after reportedly writing a note that the government should release all the “Tamil political prisoners”.
In a suicide note he said those who have been languishing in prisons for years should be released immediately after rehabilitation. He said he could not understand why the “Good governance” government is not taking steps to release them unconditionally.
The victim identified as 18 years old arts stream student from Kokuvil Hindu College. His letter was written on a notebook, both in English and Tamil languages.
