The Supreme Courts was informed by Local Government and Provincial Councils Minister Faiszer Mustapha today that the Appeal Committee report on Delimitation will be gazetted within a month without further delay.
The Minister informed the courts when a Fundamental Rights petition filed by People’s Action for Free and Fair Elections (PAFFREL) against the delay of local polls was taken up for hearing this morning. Minister Faiszer Mustapha and Chairman of Election Commission Mahinda Deshapiriya are named as respondents in this case.
The Bench consists of Priyasath Depp, Upalai Abeyratna and Anil Perera.
