Seventeen suspects involved in the klling of two businessmen in Rathgama have been further remanded until May 17 by Galle Chief Magistrate Harshana Kekunawela today (May 06).
The suspects who were remanded include 15 officers attached to the Southern Police Special Crimes Investigations Unit and two officers of the Forest Conservation Department.
It is believed that the arrested individuals had been involved in the abduction and killing of both businessmen who have been identified as G. Asela Manjula Kumara and K. Sarith Chinthaka on January 23.
