Switzerland's Ambassador to Sri Lanka Hans Peter Mack called on Justice Minister Thalatha Athukorale at the Ministry of Justice and Prison Reforms yesterday (Mar 21).
The two officials discussed matters pertaining to the development of the judicial sector in both countries.
During the discussion, Ambassador Mack had lauded Sri Lanka's efforts towards safeguarding the independence of the judiciary and the rule of law in the country.
In response, Minister Athukorale had thanked the Ambassador for the assistance provided by Switzerland in providing training and supporting the restructuring of the legal system in Sri Lanka.
The Minister had also expressed hope of obtaining further assistance from the Swiss government in this regard.
