Three persons belonging to the banned Jamathei Millathu Ibrahim (JMI) group have been arrested in Ampara today (Aug 7).
They are believed to have received weapons training with Mohamed Zahran - the mastermind behind the Easter Sunday attacks, in training camps at Nuwara Eliya and Hambantota.
Police said the suspects are residents of Kaduruwela, Mawanella, and Warakapola. Meanwhile, two suspects have been identified as students of Open University in Nawala.
So far, nine members of the banned JMI group have been arrested since last week.
