The Government of South Korea has announced a three-month general amnesty for the Sri Lankans working illegally in South Korea to leave the country.
According to the government news portal this general amnesty period will come into effect from July 10 - Oct 10.
Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment has decided not to take legal action against such Sri Lankan workers, who are returning to the country during this period, the report said.
Minister of Foreign Employment, Thalatha Athukorala stated that legal action would be taken against those who continue to remain in South Korea after the elapse of the amnesty period.
