TNA Leader and Parliamentarian R Sampanthan has written to the Defence Secretary requesting that the suspect arrested over the killing of two Police constables belonging to the Vavanathivu Police be released.
Mr Sampanthan in his letter said the inidividual identified as K Rajakumaran alias Ajanthan was taken into custody and detained under a detention order last year in November.
However, Mr Sampanthan said "I am informed that consequent to the recent bomb blasts, the arrests made and the investigations conducted reveal that the two Police constables were killed by others. If this information is correct then the above named should not be kept in custody any longer."
Mr Sampanthan further urged that the matter be looked into.
