Top Sri Lankan economist Saman Kelegama died from a heart attack suffered in Thailand on Friday.
Colleagues in Colombo said that Dr. Kelegama was found dead in his hotel room in Thailand where he had gone on official work.
He was the Executive Director of the Institute of Policy Studies and recently was heading the newly-established state-run Agency for International Trade. Dr. Kelegama was one of Sri Lanka's respected economists with an interest in international trade. - ENDS -
