The owner of a tourist hotel in Trincomalee was arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a Spanish tourist who was lodged at his hotel.
Police said that the suspect was arrested today (Mar 22) following a complaint lodged by the tourist, a youth aged 20.
Meanwhile, the youth has been sent to the Trincomalee General Hospital to undergo a medical examination.
The suspect will be produced before the Trincomalee Magistrates Court in due course.
Uppuveli police are investigating further into the incident.
