Two children have died due to drowning in Allawwa, Polgahawela yesterday (Apr 08).
The incident had occured when the children were bathing in a river located in close proximity to their residence.
Police have identified the victims as sisters by the names of 14-year old E.Sachini and 11-year old G. Nirosha.
Their remains currently lie at the Polgahawela District hospital.

The Colombo–Kandy main road at Pahala Kadugannawa has been closed indefinitely after a deadly rockfall in the area that left six people dead and four others injured.
