Two Grama Sevaka (GS) divisions in Jaffna district are under lockdown after five persons tested positive for COVID 19 last night, according to Northern health authorities.
Accordingly, a lockdown was imposed on two Grama Sevaka divisions- J65 and J67 of Gurunagar area today onwards following the request extended by health authorities to the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
Among those tested positive, two are fishermen traders who returned home last Friday after visiting Peliyagoda fish market where over 1500 persons tested positive over the last few days.
Military personnel and health officials are deployed in the two villages which are highly populated areas of the district. (N.Lohathayalan)
