Two killed after being struck by Colombo-bound train

Two persons were killed after being struck by a Colombo-bound train this evening. The incident occurred at about 5.00pm between Slave Island and Colpetty stations, the Railway Main Control Room said. 

The victims had apparently been walking on the edge of the rail tracks when they were struck by the train. 

The deceased are yet to be identified.
