Two Sri Lankan refugees were killed in a road accident in Tamil Nadu after the motorcycle they were traveling in collided with a speeding ambulance. Police said that M. Thiyagarajan (42) and his friend K. Sasikumar, both from Gangaikondan refugee camp, were returning home on a bike around 3 a.m. on Wednesday after work. When they reached Sankar Nagar, a speeding ambulance of a Madurai-based hospital hit the two-wheeler from behind killing Thiyagarajan on the spot. Sasikumar breathed his last at Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital. The ambulance was returning to its base after dropping a patient in Thiruvananthapuram.
