The Disaster Management Centre urged all Sri Lankans to observe a 2 minute silence from 9.25am to 9.27am today to commemorate the victims of the Indian Ocean Tsunami in 2004, local media reported.
Over 35,000 Sri Lankans lost their lives in this tragedy. The total number of deaths was estimated at 230.000 across 14 countries.
