Police have stated that they will arrest two religious leaders over incidents that took place during yesterday's protest at the Aruwakkalu Sanitary Landfill Project in Puttalam.
An officer from the Wanathavilluwa Police said they were prepared to arrest a Catholic Priest and a Muslim Maulavi for being behind yesterday's protest, where some protesters allegedly caused damage to property at the construction site.
However, some of those who were present at the site claimed the religious leaders played no part in organising the protest, though they took part along with area residents.
