Two suspects, a male and a female, were taken into custody by the Dehiwala Police yesterday with over 1 kilogram of heroin.
The suspects were arrested at Gonapola Junction in Moragahahena following a tip-off received by the Senior Deputy Inspector General (SDIG) of the Western Province.
The 33-year-old female suspect and the 35-year-old male suspect are residents of Paraduwa and Galpatha respectively.
They are due to be produced before the Horana Magistrate's Court today. Dehiwala police are investigating.
