Two tractor loads of 'Kothala Himbutu' seized in Vavuniya

Two tractor loads of the medicinal plant 'Kothala Himbutu' have been taken into custody by the Police in Vavuniya. The plants had been cut down and secretly stored near the Piranankulam tank in Vavuniya when police raided the location following a tip-off. However, those who were at the location had fled. 

Vavuniya police were later able to track down and apprehend three suspects in connection with the incident. 

Police have sought assistance from the Department of Ayurveda to determine the value of the seized 'Kothala Himbutu' stock. The suspects have been produced before courts. Vavuniya police are investigating.
