The non-academic staff of fourteen universities have engaged in a token strike since midnight, demanding that the Rs.2500 allowance be added to their basic salary, and six other demands, local media reported.
Demonstrators alleged that though the allowance was granted accordingly to the public sector, it was not granted to universities.While discussions with relevant authorities have not brought about any result.
