The cash deposit for United National Party (UNP)'s Presidential candidate is to be made at the Elections Secretariat tomorrow (Sept 27), party sources said.
UNP party seniors during a meeting today agreed to nominate Minister Sajith Premadasa as their Presidential candidate under certain conditions.
Among the conditions set out were to abolish the executive presidency if voted into power, introduce electoral reforms, set-up a Leadership Council within the UNP, and to accept Ranil Wickremesinghe as the Prime Minister and UNP leader.
Another condition had been to organize a felicitation ceremony for Speaker Karu Jayasuriya for his efforts to safeguard democracy during last year's constitutional crisis.
