Viharadhikari of the Thuparamaya in Anuradhapura passed away at the age of 99 years, a spokesman for the temple said.
He passed away while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Colombo. The cremation is scheduled to take place at the premises tomorrow afternoon.
The final rites of veteran broadcaster, writer, and lyricist Nirmala de Alwis will be held today at Peradeniya.
