A stash of weapons and materials used to produce explosives have been recovered from Palamunai, Mullaitivu.
The recovery had been made by Ampara Police officers upon information received by the State Intelligence Service, police spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said.
He noted that these weapons and ammunition had been buried at a land plot in the area.
Among the seized items are a T-56 weapon with 30 rounds of ammunition and its magazine, seven detonators, four gelatnite sticks, ammonia, urea and other materials used in the production of explosives.
