Western Provincial Councillor Upali Kodikara who was arrested on charges of obstructing duties of a police officer was remanded until Friday, October 23. The Provincial Councillor was remanded yesterday when he was produced before Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya. Upali Kodikara was arrested on Monday morning on the charge of obstructing duties of the OIC of the Kirulapone Police Station when the Former President was summoned to the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into large scale corruption and fraud.
