Officers from the Karuwalagaswewa Wildlife Office rescued a baby deer who had lain injured inside a forest in Thonigala.
An area resident had seen the deer, who was in distress due to an injury to its foot. Upon being informed of the incident, a group of wildlife officers from the Karuwalagaswewa wildlife office had gone and located the animal. They had then taken steps to transport it to the Department of Wildlife Conservation's Veterinarian office at Pandulagama in Anuradhapura.
