Wimal Weerawansa arrives at the CID to record a statement regarding VIP assassination plot

National Freedom Front (NFF) Leader, Wimal Weerawansa, has arrived at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today (Jan 28) to record a statement.

Mr Weerawansa was asked to appear before the CID in order to clarify information revealed by an Indian national who has been arrested over the alleged VIP assassination plot involving the President and former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.

Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa too made a statement before the CID on the same matter, last week. '

The CID will also obtain a statement from MP Weerawansa's life, Shashi Weerawansa as well.
