Navy, in coordination with Excise Station-Chankanai arrested an individual with the possession of 21.5Kg of Kerala Cannabis at Thambalai area in Point Pedro yesterday, Navy said.
Navy has been contributing in apprehension of illegal drugs and drug traffickers, regularly. Accordingly, 21kg and 510g of Kerala Cannabis which were hidden in a shrubby land were recovered, during a joint search conducted by the Navy and Excise Station- Shankane. A suspect and a motor bike were also taken into Naval custody there.
The apprehended person has been identified as a resident of Anthonypuram in Palali. Further investigation on the haul of Kerala cannabis, suspect and motor bike, is conducted by Excise Station- Chankanai.
