From Peace Process To Deal Of The Century: A Total Failure

Palestine is the land of prophets and the first Qibla for the Muslims. For its special standing, it has always been attacked by others. 70 years ago, the Zionist regime was formed in the Holy Land by the help of the West.

In the past 70 years, the Zionists have colonized the heart of the Islamic lands. The displacement of Palestinians started in 1947 and reached a peak in 1948 on Nakba Day. Around seven hundred thousand Palestinians were forced to leave their homes on that day and today four million Palestinians live out of their motherland in the neighboring countries’ camps.

The late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini in 1979 called the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as International Quds Day saying:

“I ask all the Muslims of the world and the Muslim governments to join together to sever the hand of this usurper and its supporters. I call on all the Muslims of the world to select as al-Quds Day the last Friday in the holy month of Ramadan — which is itself a determining period and can also be the determiner of the Palestinian people's fate to demonstrating the solidarity of Muslims world-wide.”

The Islamic Revolution took place in a condition that Palestine was on the verge of eternal wipeout from the world map. Muslims were frustrated and disappointed with the defeat of the Arab states in the war against the West-supported Zionist. Israel kept up with occupation of the territories of Palestine with genocide of Palestinians.

Before the Quds Day came into being, Palestine was an Islamic-Arab issue, but after that the world got focused on Israeli war crimes, Israeli systematic killing of the Palestinian children came into limelight.

In past, the US government have tried to solve the crisis between the Zionists and the Palestinians. But after President Barrack Obama who had taken some positive measures, Donald Trump replaced the peace process with the Deal of the Century, about which he had boasted for three years. The plot was severely opposed by the Palestinians.

Trump’s plan has just some economic benefits, and that’s because he has been a real estate owner and trader. All the issues of the world cannot be solved with money.

The Deal of the Century demands that Palestinians sell all Palestine to the Zionists and also recognize Israel and that Arab countries normalize ties with Israel. It totally ignores a Palestinian government.

Ayatollah Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran referred to the ‘Deal of the Century’ as a Zionist-American plot against the independence and sovereignty of the Palestinian Nation and said “this plan will certainly achieve no results. This plan will die before Trump dies. Therefore, it is foolish to come and sit, spend money, invite, create an uproar, and unveil a plan that is doomed to failure.”

His Eminence said "They will make efforts to advance this plan. They will rely on weapons and money to reach this goal. They will bribe some, lure others with weapons, and threaten some.”

According to Ayatollah Khamenei resistanceis the only way to counter their vicious behavior. The Palestinian nation, personages and organizations should force out the Zionists and the U.S. with their selfless Jihad. This is the only effective solution. All the Muslim world should also help and support the Palestinians.

Islamic Republic of Iran while expressing its solidarity with the Palestinian cause, reiterates the important responsibility of the International community, the UN in particular to end the organized occupation of Palestine and the holy al-Quds and to help the Palestinian people achieve their right to self-determination and establish an independent Palestinian state.

After more than 70 years of occupation of Palestine, International communities are expected to take a decisive step to end the occupation and the Zionist regime’s aggressions and pave the way for the return of the displaced Palestinians to their mother land and hold a referendum with participation of the original inhabitants including Muslims, Christians and Jews to determine their political system.
