Football: Saunders forward Sundararaj leaves national training camp

Saunders Sports Club's centre forward player Sundararaj Niresh has left the first phase of Residential Training Camp initiated by the Football Federation of Sri Lanka (FFSL) according to official sources.

Sundararaj was part of the first phase of Residential Training Camp of the Sri Lanka Football Pool 2021 which began at the National Training Centre in Beddagana on January 9. 

The player has left the training camp on the evening of the same day due to a personal reason without the approval from the Sri Lanka Football Team Management.

"The FFSL consider him being withdrawn from the Residential Training Pool and Sri Lanka National Football Pool 2021. The FFSL shall summon the  player for an immediate inquiry on Disciplinary Measures," an official press release issued by FFSL stated. 
 
Technical Director and Head Coach Amir Alagic has selected Sea Hawks FC's centre forward J.A. Asela Madushan to join the pool subject to PCR Test.

The Head Coach of the Sri Lankan Men's Football Team, Alagić, selected 22 players to take part in a training camp at the National Training Complex in Beddagana earlier this month. 
 
Upcountry Lions SC goalkeeper Sujan Perera has been named as the captain of the squad by the FFSL.

The 22 players selected for the training camp: Sujan Perera (Capt),H. Kavindu Ishan (Upcountry Lions), Prabath Ruwan Arunasiri, Madushan Fernando, Harsha Fernando (Blue Eagles), R.P. Danushka (New Star), Nuwan Gimhana, Chamod Dilshan (Saunders), Chalana Chameera, Abdul Basith, Charitha Rathnanayake, Ahamed Shazny, Shabeer Razooniya, Zarwan Johar (Colombo FC), Jude Supan (Renown SC), Asikoor Rahuman  (Defenders), N.C.M. Rahman (Red Star SC), U.S.T. Danuska (New Youngs FC),   S.D. Wijesinghe (Red Star SC), Rifkhan Mohamed (Police SC), Waseem Razeek (Overseas Player), Asela Madushan (Sea Hawks FC)
