Brian Masaba has stepped down as Uganda captain.
The 32-year-old led the side into the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, and took five wickets in the tournament - including two against West Indies in a spell of 2/31.
"It's something I have been considering for quite a while now," he said in a speech shared by Uganda Cricket Association on social media.
He described captaining Uganda as "the biggest honour of my life", adding that it was "a privilege to lead my country, not just at a World Cup, but for the past five years."
He also said: "There has been a lot of growth for me as an individual and lessons I've learnt about leadership and sacrifice, which will stay with me for the rest of my life."
