Athletic veteran P.H.D. Waidyathilake has been selected as an International Technical Official (ITO) for the 22nd Asian Athletics Championship which will be held in Bhubaneshwar in India.
Waidyathilake is the only Sri Lankan official to earn the honour of being invited for the regional international event.
Waidyathilake has already competed two international assignments for 2017, following the World Masters Athletics Indoor Championships in Daegu, Korea held in March and the 2nd Asian Youth Athletics Championships in Bangkok held in May.
The 22nd Asian Championships will commence on July 9 at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneshwar from with the participation of over 800 athletes from 45 Asian countries.
