The first round of the National Baseball League Championship got underway at the Japan-Sri Lanka Friendship ground in Diyagama, Homagama last Saturday (10).
Sri Lanka Navy, Ranabima Royal, Sri Lanka Army and Old Royalists recorded wins in their first round games comfortably to move to the second round easily.
On Saturday Navy thrashed Kelaniya University 22-2 while Ranabima Royal beat Old Nalanda by 12-0.
On Sunday (11) Army overcame Old Anandians by 7-3 while Old Royalists had an easy win by 16-0 against Asia Baseball Cllub.
The second round will continue this weekend.
