S. Thomas' College Mt. Lavinia beat Lyceum International School Wattala by 65-54 to win the All-Island Under-17 Division 'A' Boys’ Basketball Championship in the final played at the STC courts in Mt. Lavinia on Monday (7).
Yasin Dimantha and Shenuka Kasturiarachchi contributed with 18 each for the winners while Shevan Perera scored 16 points as S. Thomas’ led the halftime by 34-25.
Nimesh Kulatunga scored 19 points for Lyceum Wattala while Evangelo Mario played well to score 15 points.
Shenuka Kasturiarachchi of S. Thomas' College won the Best Defensive Player award while Nimesh Kulathunga of Lyceum Wattala won the Best Offensive Player award.
Thomian Shevan Perera won the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament award.
Royal College beat St. Joseph's College by 37-33 to win the Third Place Playoff.
St. Joseph’s led the halftime 17-15 in a closely contested battle.
