Selomi Gunasekara of St. Joseph's Girls School Nugegoda has been appointed the captain of the Sri Lanka Under-18 team for the 6th FIBA 3x3 Under-18 World Cup which will be held in Chengdu, China from Wednesday (28).
The Sri Lanka team left for China on Tuesday (27) for the 5-day competition which will be held with the participation of 20 girls' and boy's teams in the world ranks.
The Gunasekara-led Sri Lanka Under-18s team includes Tania Perera, Pavani Ranepura (both from Lyceum International Wattala) and Lia Hamza (Colombo International School).
Sri Lanka will compete under Group 'B' where Angola, Germany, the Netherlands and Czech Republic are also part of.
The team is accompanied by team leader Sivashakthi Selvaraja and Lady Chaperon Nadeeshani Mekalanda.
