Richmond did well to restrict the Mahindians to a first innings score of 121 with Avindu Theekshana grabbing four wickets while Charith Asalanka, Dhananjaya Lakshan a grabbed two wickets each.
In reply the Richmond continuing from their overnight score of 95/3 declared their first essay at 221-7 with Wanidu Hasaranga 42 and Pasindu Bimsara 43 making the major contributions to the total while Asanka Lakshan bowled well to capture four wickets.
