St. Joseph’s College, Bandarawela and Bandarawela Central College will meet in their annual Big Match cricket encounter, the Battle of the Golds in Uva, on Friday (17) and Saturday (18) at the Municipal Council Ground in Bandarawela.
Battle of the Golds in Uva, the only annual schools Big Match cricket encounter held in the Uva Province, has a long history which goes back up to 1967.
St. Joseph’s College team is captained by Dumindu Damishka and Ayesha Lakmal will be his deputy.
Heshan Ratnayake will lead the Bandarawela Central College team and Charithra Basnayake is his deputy. St. Joseph’s has recorded three victories and Bandarawela Central has been able to preserve the victory twice so far.
