Trinity College overpowered St. Anthony’s College by 9 wickets in their annual Limited Overs Big Match for the Sir Richard Aluvihare Trophy at Katugastota today (19).
Trinity, who displayed ruthless efficiency, finished the match in the last over before the break.
Raveen Sayer (3), Lahiru Kumara and S. Sanogeeth (2 each) combined to bowl out the home team for 89.
Mohammed Alfer, Theekshana Gunasinghe and Kavinda Yapa Bandara offered token resistance with 24, 16 and 20 respectively.
Trinity’s top trio of Sanogeeth, Weerasinghe and Jayalath knocked off the runs in under 10 overs in a display of exhilarating batting.
A little over 40 overs were needed in a match which was thoroughly one sided.
