Parakrama Basnayake, the Director of Sri Lanka Customs, was elected President of the Sri Lanka Carrom Federation (SLCF) at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on Monday (18).
Basnayake received 59 votes in the race to the top position as Sri Lanka Police's Daya Vidanagama was elected Secretary with 66 votes.
The SLCF election was delayed for over eight months due to various reasons, even causing blockage of Sri Lanka taking part at international tournaments.
The new office bearers of SLCF will serve for a term of two years according to the new Sports Law.
