The inaugural Drop Roball Tournament conducted by the Colombo District Women’s Cricket Association (CDWCA) will be worked off from June 7 to 9 in Colombo.
The tournament which will be open for Boys’ and Girls’ will be conducted in three age groups namely Under-16, Under-19, and Over-25 in Singles, Doubles and Triple.
This was revealed by Rohini Fernando, President CDWCA and Chief Organiser for Drop Roball in Sri Lanka. She also stated that this game is similar to tennis and volleyball which is being played with the net.
This is a very famous game being played in India every point.
The sport also received a boost from India where the Secretary of Drop Roball Fedaration - India Dr. Ishwar Singh and Technical Director/Coach S. P Massey visited Sri Lanka for further discussions on a request of the President CDWC Rohini Fernando. In return the CDWCA invited the Indian team to play in Sri Lanka in view of its 20th Anniversary Celebrations.
