Kothalawala Defence Academy (KDU) and International College of Business and Technology (ICBT) qualified to meet in the final of the Red Bull T20 Campus cricket tournament when they won their semi-final encounters played at the Thurstan ground on Saturday (12). KDU coasted to a five win over Royal Institute of Colombo (RIC) while ICBT got the better of National School of Business Management (NSBM) by 57 runs. In the match between KDU and RIC a knock of 66 by Milan Abeysekera was in vain as Ashen Perera matched it with a 57 enabling KDU to reach the target of 142 runs with five balls to spare. The other match saw two fine knocks by Anushka Perera and Shehan Jayasuirya enabling ICBT who took first lease, make a challenging score of 143 while NSBM in their turn was able to muster a score of only 86. The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has interdicted Colombo Fort Magistrate Kosala Senadheera.
The Supreme Court today refused interim relief in an application filed by President’s Counsel Senaka Walgampaya seeking an Order from the Supreme Court compelling the President to appoint judges to fill the existing vacancies in the Court Of Appeal.
The deadline for online applications to the 2024 G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) Examination has been extended until July 12, the Department of Examinations said.
