A fine allround effort helped Sri Lanka 'A' overcome England Lions by 119 runs on Duckworth/Lewis Method in the second Unofficial ODI match played at Dambulla today (4).
The win put Sri Lanka in front as they lead the five-match Unofficial ODI series 2-0 with today's win.
Electing to bat England Lions were restricted to 217 in 42.15 overs and Sri Lanka 'A' were 201 runs for no loss in 28.4 overs when rain stopped play and gave the home team a commanding 119-run win by D/L Method.
Sri Lanka A openers Dhanushka Gunatilaka and Kusal Perera were associating in an unbroken stand of 201 runs when the home team were declared winners by a revised target of 83 runs in 28.4 overs on D/L Method.
Gunathilaka was unbeaten on 121 runs off 88 balls inclusive of 12 fours and six sixes and Perera was 70 not out off 84 balls with nine fours and a six.
Earlier on skipper and left-arm spinner Milinda Siriwardena captured four wickets while Thisara Perera and Lahiru Madushanka picked two wickets each to curtail England Lions to 217.
For England Lions Liam Livingstone top scored with a valuable knock of 94 which came off 104 deliveries inclusive of seven fours and two sixes.
Opener Ben Duckett hit a quick 59 off 45 balls inclusive of ten fours and six.
The third unofficial ODI match will be played on Monday (6) at Welagedera Stadium in Kurunegala.
