Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) is set to hold its Elections on February 7, 2019 according to reliable sources.
SLC, which has been running under a Competent Authority appointed by the Ministry of Sports since June this year, will hold its elections to name a set of office bearers, who would run the cricket administration for two years.
The elections of SLC has been postponed several times since May 31, after a Court of Appeal ruled that the SLC election procedures were ignored.
The ban was lifted two weeks later, but SLC failed to hold its elections due to various other reasons.
According to the latest development, nominations will be accepted until December 17 while objections will be taken up until December 31.
The three-member Election Committee appointed by the membership, as per the Sports Laws and Regulations of the country, will take up the objections, if there are any, on January 1 and 2, 2019 followed by the release of the final list of nominations by January 14.
