Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) is seriously keen on appointing a fresh Selection Committee according to informed sources.
With the term of the present Selection Committee headed by Graeme La Brooy coming to an end today (15), SLC is said to have focused on implementing changes to the five-member panel.
Currently under La Brooy, the Selection Committee includes Asanka Gurusinha, Sajith Fernando, Jeryl Woutersz and Gamini Wickramasinghe.
It was revealed earlier that the newly appointed Minister of Sports, Faiszer Musthapha has given the green light on the present Selection Committee an extended term, but SLC has made other recommendations.
It is tipped that SLC would likely name a new Selection Committee with Brendon Kuruppu, Ranjith Madurasinghe, Indika de Saram, Eric Upashantha and Chaminda Mendis in it.
Kuruppu's name is also in the frontline for the position of Chief Selector.
