Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) announced a preliminary squad of 20 national players which began training at the R. Premadasa Stadium on Thursday (21).
The squad of 20 will be gearing up for the upcoming Sri Lanka's tour of England.
The squad will hold training sessions at the Pallekele Stadium where they will also play a two-day match during the weekend.
After continuous training sessions the SLC selectors will finalise the Test squad for the England tour on April 27.
Sri Lanka plays a series against England which consist of three Tests, five One Day Internationals and in two Twenty20 Internationals.
Angelo Mathews remains as captain while Dinesh Chandimal has been appointed as his deputy.
The preliminary squad: Angelo Mathews (Capt), Dasun Chanaka, Dinesh Chandimal (VC), Dhammika Prasad, Dhananjaya de Silva, Dilruwan Perera, Dimuth Karunaratne, Dushmantha Chameera, Jeffrey Vandersay, Kasun Rajitha, Kaushal Silva, Kusal Mendis, Milinda Siriwardana, Niroshan Dickwella, Nuwan Pradeep, Rangana Herath, Shaminda Eranga, Suranga Lakmal, Tharanga Paranavitana, Vishwa Fernando.
