Test opener Dimuth Karunaratne has been named in the Sri Lanka Board XI for the One Day International (ODI) warm-up game against South Africa that will be played at the P. Sara Oval in Colombo on Thursday (26).
Left-handed Karunaratne played 17 ODIs but has never been a regular member of the ODI team.
According to Sri Lanka Cricket selectors the team officials are attempting to make use of Karunaratne's current form in the concluded Test series against South Africa.
Additionally spinners Prabath Jayasuriya and Nishan Peiris, after their overwhelming performances with the Sri Lanka ‘A’ team, have been given the opportunity to tryout the abilities with the main side.
Top order batsman Dhananjaya de Silva will lead the Sri Lanka Board XI team.
